Andy Salmon is a Nephrologist working on Auckland’s North Shore, serving many of the diverse populations that make up those living with end-stage kidney disease in New Zealand. He also works for the Institute of Improvement and Innovation, and is the current Medical Advisor for Kidney Health New Zealand.

Presentation: Closing the gap: kidney transplantation for Māori and Pasifika peoples
Māori and Pasifika Peoples bear the largest burden of end-stage kidney disease in New Zealand, and yet these groups have the lowest access to transplantation. Local data on barriers to transplantation, and a case study illustrating a framework for enabling transplantation, will be reviewed.
